New Story, established in 2020 in Japan, quickly became a notable name in casual gaming, mainly monetizing through in-app ads. Their titles — including the most popular, 'Find Journey: Hidden Objects' — attracted over 200 million players, showcasing their commitment to building innovative and engaging casual games.

Challenge

In the highly competitive gaming vertical, where Average Revenue Per Daily Active User (ARPDAU) is an important metric for sustainability and growth, New Story faced the challenge of improving their In-App Ads (IAA) revenue. They aimed to enhance their ad monetization through their existing mediation system by seeking an ad network to boost ARPDAU. To address these challenges, New Story embarked on a strategic collaboration.

New Story partnered with Moloco for SDK integration because of its precise ad targeting and data analytics capabilities. This fast integration set the stage for the initial trial with New Story's popular game, 'Find Journey: Hidden Objects.'  Key improvements from integrating Moloco’s SDK included:

  • Efficient SDK integration: Utilizing Moloco's comprehensive technical documentation, New Story efficiently integrated the SDK within one week and adjusted the mediation settings.

  • ARPDAU optimization: Focusing on maximizing ARPDAU, New Story could better gauge and enhance ad network performance to ensure that each user interaction was engaging and cost-effective. This directly impacts New Story’s overall revenue goals for sustainable growth and profitability. 

  • Accurate data reporting: With less than 0.05% discrepancy between Moloco and MMP (mobile measurement partner) numbers, this provided a level of accuracy surpassing  other networks and increased New Story's confidence in data consistency across platforms.

The successful integration led New Story to expand Moloco SDK traffic across iOS and Android platforms.

Results

The partnership with Moloco enhanced New Story's ad network integration within the gaming vertical, setting a precedent for leveraging advanced technology for ongoing success and growth.
