About Falcon Games Studio

Since its founding in 2017, Falcon Game Studio has become one of Vietnam's fastest-growing mobile game production companies. The company is a trailblazer: it is the first Vietnamese game studio to produce a game that generates a million dollars of in-app revenue. To date, it has launched over 500 games, which have collectively amassed over three billion downloads on Google Play and Apple Store. Their top games include Pop It Fidget Toys, Tangled Line, Solo Survivor, and more.

Challenge: Identifying a partner to scale using diverse ad formats

While Falcon Game Studio had seen impressive user growth in Vietnam, the company sought to expand the audience for its games across Tier 1 markets, including the U.S., U.K., Taiwan, Korea, Japan, etc.

The company had three key priorities when seeking an ad partner to support its expansion:

First, since the company launches hundreds of games each year, this new partnership needed to offer flexibility with creative ad formats that wouldn't disrupt user experience, regardless of the game format. Second, Falcon Game Studio had encountered latency and technical issues with previous partners, so it was crucial that this new solution was integrated seamlessly and error-free. Most importantly, the company needed this partnership to drive a substantial lift in ARPDAU, making it a key measure of success.

Having found success using Moloco waterfall SDK, Falcon Game Studio learned about the company's new in-app bidding SDK and charted a test to see if the new product would service the company's goals.

Solution: Moloco in-app bidding SDK extends reach and lifts ARPDAU

With the Moloco in-app bidding SDK, Falcon Game Studio found an ad partner that seamlessly integrated quality ads to their app.

"We were confident the integration would be straightforward since the SDK is a certified partner with LevelPlay and MAX, our mediation platforms — and we were right," said Linh Nguyen, the Vice CEO of Falcon Global Ltd. "Moloco's in-app bidding also gave us more flexibility in the creative formats, unlike the limitations we faced with other partners. Plus, it provided direct access to global demand, helping us secure additional budgets without any technical complications. We're very pleased."

The plan was to test one app in a specific region to evaluate whether ARPDAU would increase. The A/B test compared a control group (without traffic from Moloco's in-app bidding SDK) to an experimental group (with traffic from the SDK). After just two weeks, the results were clear: Moloco's in-app bidding SDK delivered impressive returns with significantly less effort.

Results: Data shows the value of switching from waterfall to in-app bidding

The Moloco in-app bidding SDK delivered up to a 15% increase in ARPDAU, ranking Moloco among the top 6 ad networks in the studio's partner ecosystem in terms of ad revenue.

Also, the Falcon Game Studio team saved valuable time by eliminating the need to research and adjust pricing as with waterfall SDK. Additionally, automating the bidding process with the Moloco in-app bidding SDK reduced the risk of human errors caused by manual updates.

With these strong results, Falcon Game Studio is now planning to roll out the SDK across its full game portfolio.

"We are extremely pleased with the results we've achieved using Moloco's in-app bidding SDK. The 15% increase in ARPDAU and the streamlined, error-free process have made a significant impact. We're excited to explore how we can further expand this partnership and drive even greater success across our entire game portfolio."
